My daughter and I reading the Joint Interfaith Statement on behalf of 107 Organizations as 2nd & 3rd Generation Hibakushas (atomic bomb survivors) at the Third Meeting of State Parties for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in the Trusteeship Council Chamber at the United Nations, NYC. This poignant statement was written by Anna Ikeda.
It was surreal and wonderful. So happy we could read this poignant statement of prayer and faith while honoring my mother, who suffered from atomic bombing of #Hiroshima at 12 yrs old. A prayer for all Hibakushas, victims of nuclear bombing, testing, and mining.
Being able to read it as mother and daughter, 2nd and 3rd generation #Hibakusha will be a memory I’ll hold in my heart forever. ♥️
